An EFCC operative, Oyibogare Williams, has reportedly committed suicide by drinking a poisonous substance known as Sniper.
36Naija reliably gathered that Mr Oyigbogare Williams, a detective assistant of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission was found dead at about 7 am yesterday (Friday, 9th of September 2019) at his residence located at Giwa Amu area, off Airport Road, Benin, Edo State.
Security sources confirmed that Mr Williams was found by a colleague who went to check up on him after he failed to report to the office on Thursday and several calls made to get him on phone proved abortive.
36Naija gathered that the Police detective found some unknown pills, bottles of sniper and a suicide note written by Mr Williams when searching for the possible cause of the death.
His remains have been deposited at the Central Hospital Mortuary, Benin for autopsy.
The EFCC spokesman for the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren didn’t respond to a phone call and text message which seeked to know his reaction to the incident.
On June 20 2019, the federal government of Nigerian placed an embargo on the sale and use of Sniper and they directed that the product must be withdrawn from the open market with immediate effect.
