Borussia Dortmund forward, Jadon Sancho says that incidents of racism have made him question himself why he plays football. He also expressed fears that players will lose their love of the sport.
36Naija Sports understands that Romelu Lukaku was the latest victim of racial after he was subjected to racist chants from Cagliari supporters while Inter Milan at Cagliari on Sunday.
This is coming after incidents of racial abuse directed at Manchester United players Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford and Chelsea forward, Tammy Abraham on social media.
“It just has to stop,” England and Borussia Dortmund winger Sancho said.
“No player wants to play football and have abuse like that. It puts the confidence down in players and the love of the sport will go very soon if it doesn’t stop.
“It is hard to see things like this because it feels like, ‘why should we play football?’”
