The German police have arrested some members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) who assaulted Senator Ike Ekweremadu in Nuremberg.
The Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa condemned the attack on the Nigerian senator.
“I condemn in its entirety the attack on former DSP Ike Ekeremadu at an event in Nuremberg, Germany, nobly put together by Ndi Igbo Germany, where he was attacked.
“I hope the culprits, some of whom have been arrested, will face consequences for their shamefully pathetic actions,” she wrote.
36Naija News had reported that Senator Ekweremadu was attacked by IPOB members in Germany. The Senator who currently represents Enugu West was seen in a video being attacked by IPOB members when he attended the 2nd Annual Cultural Festival and Convention of the Ndi-Igbo Germany in Nuremberg.
