The unfortunate boat accident at Badore waters near Lekki has had an increased death toll from one to fifteen, this mishap happened on a Saturday 29th of June.
The first casualty for the red letter day was a heavily pregnant woman at about 10 pm, the next day four bodies were recovered and now eleven more bodies yesterday.
A statement was released by Lagos State Emergency Agency(LASEMA) by the body PRO Kehinde Adebayo, stating that efforts are being made to get the remaining missing people on board in the tragic accident of the 20-seater boat.
“Search and rescue are still ongoing for the other missing persons yet to be found by officials of Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) and Marine Police with support from the local divers. Community leaders, as well as local fishermen in the area, have been informed to avail the agency of any information through the emergency toll-free lines 112/767 to enhance total recovery”,
the statement said.
LASEMA urged the missing people relatives to report to the Marine Police or any Police station within the proximity of the unfortunate accident.
