Operatives of the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Advance Fee Fraud Section, Abuja Headquarters has collaborated with some of its officials in the Benin Zonal Office in an operation held on Friday 17, 2019 as it arrested 22 suspected internet fraudsters (Yahoo Boys) during an early morning ambush at Sapele, Delta State.
It is reported that the suspects who are within the ages of 18 years to 30 years, were smoked out from their hideout in an early morning raid by the EFCC. A day earlier, EFCC operatives from Abuja had arrested 2 suspected internet fraudsters in Ughelli area of Delta State.
The Items recovered from the suspects were laptop computers, iPhones, phones, ATM cards, and 3 exotic vehicles. The cars are Chrysler 300, Benz C350 and Benz ML 350.
The activities of the Commission goes in line with the directive of its acting Executive Chairman, Ibrahim Magu who promised to rid the entire country of internet fraud and cybercrime.
